Another brand that has embraced the Oudh ingredient and has a great story. In this blog, we take you inside the brand: NEJMA.
Marie Lise Bischoff, owner of the NEJMA brand, grew up a stone's throw from Grasse - the pafum capital of the world. From an early age, she grew up among perfumes, and besides her love for fragrances, she was also inspired by the stars. Stars that shine in a thousand in the sky of Nice, the port city on the Mediterranean, where she grew up. For this reason, her grandmother always called her Nejma. Nejma means star in Arabic.
During a trip through the Middle East, Marie Lisa hears an Arabic story and falls for the heroic tale. Tradition has it that the woman in the story is called Nejma - 'a woman of incomparable charm and beauty'. Because of the name, Marie Lisa feels an immediate connection with the woman and is inspired by this story.
The story is truly fateful, with Nejma being held captive and traded as a slave. An Arab prince chooses her for her beauty, spontaneity and the perfume that naturally envelops her body. Together, they have seven daughters, each with her own character.
When the daughters were older, they each created a perfume as an ode to their mother, each highlighting a different aspect of their beloved mother. In this way, seven perfumes find their way. The ingredient (the soul) that connects these seven fragrances is the precious, mysterious and oriental Oudh. The first three fragrances have a higher percentage of Oudh.
Below is a short description of the fragrances;
In addition to the Original Collection, Nejma also has a Luxury Collection, in striking white bottles. In this line you will find Le Mervielleux (floral-fruity), Le Mysterieux (gourmand) and Le Fabuleux (sweet-floral). Each of these unique fragrances, without losing the Nejma signature.
