Art and science of the ancient Maya civilisation are considered the highest and most advanced cultural expression of all the civilisations of Mesoamerica. This fragrance tells of places and legends, tastes and aromas and is inspired by the ancient knowledge and testimonies kept on the walls of the archaeological sites and between the pages of the four Mayan Codes written in wood. TIKAL is a fragrance of countless contrasts and suggestions. Strong fougère stimulates all the senses and reminds us of a lush forest, while Tonka bean makes us dream of customs and habits of a people surrounded by great Eleusinian Mysteries.
The opening is aromatic and sparkling, with notes of coriander, sage and bergamot. A spicy note of nutmeg satisfies the senses and accentuates the gourmand component of Tonka bean. Forests of indigenous trees with thousand-year-old trunks evoke ancient customs and knowledge, such as Cedar wood, a symbol of long life, and Guaiaco wood used by warriors to build bows.
Tikal is an atavistic perfume with an animalistic appeal. From resins secreted by trees and substances formerly associated with colours, sounds and stones, the Four Codes, transcribed on bark wood, evoke a myriad of suggestions that remain shrouded in mystery.
